John has served on the TCS board since 2007. His daughter Alexis attended Trinity Christian from kindergarten through eighth grade.
Mr. Herod and his wife Regina attend Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Joliet.
John retired from Dow Chemical after 41 years but currently works for TransWood Transportation.
John has been actively involved with TCS from the time he and his family first entered the school. John still greets the students on Friday mornings. John says, “I enjoy the opportunity to say good morning to the students and their parents/grandparents. I have come to know so many of them over the years. Some I have been able to keep up with once they leave TCS.”
As a husband and father, Jonas Byrer has volunteered his time on the Trinity Christian School Board for the last 5 years and participates on the school’s Finance Committee. He has been married to his lovely wife, Kathleen Byrer, for over 15 years. They have one child who has attended TCS since she was in kindergarten; his daughter, Addison, who graduated in 2024.
Jonas has lived in the Southwest Suburbs of Chicago since 2004, where he has been involved in and participates in several organizations such as Safe Families, where he has been a Host family since 2013. His family also has sponsored children through Compassion International since 2013. Other organizations that Jonas donates his time and resources to are Mission Bible Church, Feed My Starving Children and Northern Food Bank.
Jonas grew up in Indiana, where he graduated from Purdue University in 2000. He currently works in the mortgage industry with his twin brother.
J.D. is the parent of four former TCS students, with an investment of over forty student-years of TCS eduction. He is currently the longest standing member of the TCS Board, with over thirty years of faithful service.
J.D. and his wife Robyn are active members of their Evangelical Covenant church. They have lived in the Chicagoland area since college. J.D. primarily grew up in the Chicago suburbs. He went out east for college. He graduated Magna Cum Laude from Princeton University. He returned to the Midwest and subsequently earned his MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.
J.D. works in the information technology industry. He is a presently a worldwide sales executive with responsibility for a $250M/year hardware and software growth area at IBM.
David has been a part of the TCS community since 2015 and currently has one daughter in middle school. You will often see him volunteering in the tech booth for the Christmas programs and the spring musical. A product of a Christian school education himself, he knows the importance of establishing a love of God's word and having a biblical foundation for approaching the world, especially in today's culture.
David resides in Yorkville with his wife Misty, and between them, they have 4 children: Auggie (TCS Class of 2023), Ace, Carly and Addie. They are members of Harvest New Beginnings Church in Oswego, where David is a member of the HRVST Music worship team. David is the owner of Payton Production Group, a live event technology and production company.
Jennifer has served on the TCS school board since 2022 and has been involved with Trinity Christian School since 2013. Her four children currently attend TCS and her husband, Eric Danielson, was part of the first class of TCS (formally Joliet Christian School) in 1993. Jennifer is grateful for the Christian educational foundation TCS set for her husband and is currently instilling in her children.
Jennifer is currently an adjunct mathematics professor and program coordinator at Joliet Junior College. Her Bachelor's Degree is from the University of Illinois in Mathematics and Music Education with a Master's Degree in Educational Administration from Benedictine University. Jennifer enjoys using her educational background to serve on the TCS School Board.
Jennifer and her husband and children attend, serve, and support Mission Bible Church. They consider it a privilege to be a part of the TCS family and appreciate the integration of school, church, and home.
School Board Meetings
School Board Meetings are typically held on the third Tuesday of every month. TCS Parents are welcome to attend the open session that begins at 7 p.m.
