Music on the Move

Music on the Move

An outstanding opportunity is now available for your child to participate in a most enriching and rewarding instrumental music program at our school.

This program will enable your child to learn how to play the musical instrument of their choice and to participate in the school's ensemble group, which will perform on many occasions throughout the year.

Instructors are professional educators who are dedicated to giving the best musical experience possible.

Lessons

Lessons will be offered on the following instruments:

  • Flute
  • Clarinet
  • Oboe
  • Alto Saxophone
  • Trumpet
  • French Horn
  • Trombone
  • Baritone
  • Percussion

Half-hour lessons will be given once a week during the school day, with the exception of scheduled holiday periods.

Students are taught in small groups of similar instruments and/or abilities.

Ensemble rehearsals will also be provided.

Instruments

CAUTION - Do not purchase instruments on the internet, Sam's Club, Wal-Mart, Sears, etc., since we find they are generally inferior instruments. If in doubt, call our office or check with your band director. Area repair shops will not even look at these instruments for repair.

In order to provide quality instruments at the lowest possible prices, our program works exclusively with a local music instrument dealer.

Rental plans and purchase plans are available at a substantial discount for students who participate in the Music on the Move program.

The company's name is P.M. Music Center, located in Aurora. You may call them at (630)-978-4756 and they will provide you with all the information that you will need in the event that you wish to rent or purchase a musical instrument. Please mention that you are with Music on the Move.

Enrollment

Your tuition investment is $17.25 per small group lesson, i.e. $517.50 for 30 lessons, payable in monthly installments of $57.00. Family discounts are available for three or more students. Late starters' tuition will be adjusted accordingly. Classes meet once a week, except on school holidays.

An annual registration/materials fee of $25.00 covers the cost of all method books and teaching materials that your child will need for the entire year.
