Spiritual Emphasis

Spiritual Emphasis

Student reading her Bible in class

"And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him." (Colossians 3:17)

At Trinity Christian School, nurturing the spiritual lives of our students as committed disciples of Jesus Christ is absolutely integral to our mission. Christian faith is foundational to our every endeavor, whether academic, social, athletic, artistic, or so forth. We approach every aspect of our well-rounded, whole-personal educational program from the perspective of timeless biblical principles, preparing our students for a lifetime of seeking first the Kingdom of God. We purposefully participate in activities that draw us closer to Christ, including:

Chapel Worship
Every Wednesday morning at 8:30, Trinity students and staff come together for a time of worship. Each grade level is given the responsibility of leading one chapel service per year.

We also invite area pastors to share God’s word with us and begin each service with worship songs. Parents and grandparents are always welcome to attend.

School Yearly Scripture
At the start of each school year, faculty and staff select a passage of scripture to serve as the school scripture for the year. The passage provides the overarching theme for our weekly chapel services and often emphasizes a specific character trait we wish to build up in our students.

This year our theme is the Life of Jesus.

Our theme verse is John 14:6,

"Jesus answered, ‘I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.’"

Weekly Staff Devotion
Every Tuesday morning prior to the start of the school day, our teachers and staff get together for a time of prayer and devotions. Staff members take turns leading these weekly devotional services. It is a time where the entire staff can come together in unity as we open up the Word of God with one another.

Spiritual Emphasis Week
One week, usually in April, is set aside for the kids to go to chapel each day of the week as we celebrate our annual Spiritual Emphasis Week. This week provides an opportunity for students to renew and revitalize their focus on the Lord and be impacted by His Word and teachings.

In order to be more effective in this effort, we split the student body into two groups and have chapel at different times. Teachers and students are also encouraged to set up one day to get involved in a Service Project as a class.

8th Grade Retreat

The 8th graders kick off their school year with an overnight retreat during the first week of school. The 8th graders are challenged by trust games and several sessions where the message is about setting goals and making this the best year of their elementary career. It is a great time coming together as a class and with our Lord.

Service Projects

Letting our light shine by serving others is a great ministry at Trinity. Classes are encouraged to do one or more service projects throughout the year. Letting our faith shine through our actions is a great learning opportunity for the kids and a great example to our community. Classes in recent years have raked leaves, visited nursing homes, served at Feed My Starving Children, written letters to soldiers, packed boxes for Operation Christmas Child, and much more!

National Day of Prayer
Our students and staff participate each year in the National Day of Prayer through a special chapel service followed by a time of prayer in each classroom. Parents are welcome to participate in the chapel service and to pray for the school.

See You at the Pole

Our students and staff participate each year in See You at the Pole with student-led prayer and worship before school. Parents are welcome to participate.

We would gladly help you pray for your needs. Prayer request forms are found in the school or you may contact the school office if you are in need of prayer.
