Volunteer Opportunities

“As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another… whoever serves, as one who serves by the strength that God supplies—in order that in everything God may be glorified through Jesus Christ.” (1 Peter 4:10-11)

We are blessed at Trinity Christian School (TCS) to have wonderful parents and grandparents who help meet the needs of the school in so many different ways. Whether it’s serving hot lunch, helping out at a sports event or serving as a Weekend Warrior, your help is greatly appreciated!

We believe each person is equipped with special talents and we try to match those talents with volunteer opportunities that come up throughout the year. Each family is required to contribute 20 hours per student attending Trinity, with a maximum of 60 hours. Many families, however, go above and beyond to bless our school throughout the year with their talents.

Thank you to all our parents and grandparents who generously give their time to make Trinity a special place.

School Year Volunteer Opportunities
  • Morning Greeter: Every morning from 8 - 8:30 a.m. Our friendly greeters welcome our students and help the younger ones out of vehicles in the morning drop-off line.
  • Recess Helper: Every day from 11:50 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. These parents and grandparents provide supervision, alongside the recess coordinators, to keep our kids safe and cared for during their playtime.
  • Lunch Helper: Two helpers every day from 11:15 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. AND one helper every day from 11:15 a.m. - 1 p.m. These adults assist our Lunch Coordinator with packaging and sorting hot lunch orders in the kitchen by grade and classroom, help distribute, then assist with clean-up.

Parents who have unique work schedules and rotations, making their availability during the day sporadic, can sign up to be on the Last-Minute Call-In list. This list is invaluable! These volunteers are called on a last-minute basis when there is an urgency to fill a volunteer spot.

Volunteer opportunities outside of the above-mentioned daily needs vary greatly. We recognize that now more than ever, we have many households with working parents.

There are many ways families can accrue their volunteer hours. Some of those opportunities are major events such as Walk-A-Thon, Grandparents' Day, ACSI athletic tournaments hosted by TCS, Benefit Event, and the Christmas Craft and Vendor Fair. At these events, families can accrue bulk hours.

Some other opportunities consist of Weekend Warriors (meet most every first Saturday of the month to do a bit of extra cleaning around the school inside and out) and take-home projects (tasks that can be picked up, completed at home and delivered back to school; tasks such as collating, sorting, stapling, cutting, cover books, etc.)

TCS is able to offer so much more to students when you're involved, and your kids appreciate seeing you engaged and around school whether they say it or not!
