School History
The Shorewood Church of God opened its doors to us on August 23, 1993 and with much joy and excitement, 57 students from kindergarten through 8th grade were welcomed to Joliet Christian School! We grew quickly and in November 1994, after Grace Baptist Church completed its educational wing, we moved to accommodate the growing student body the Lord was providing. Once again, we grew. Entering the new century, the Board felt led to pursue a plan for our own independent facility. We knew this step was so big, that if God were not in it, it would not happen. Supported by His grace, along with our community and our families, we entered into a capital campaign. We received strong support and were able to break ground on a new building in 2002. In November 2003, after prayer and input, the Board announced a new God honoring name: "Trinity Christian School". During the 2003 Christmas break, a smooth moving process took place and in early January 2004, our students came their new building. The blessings have not stopped in our new home. We have been blessed to receive major donations that have enabled the completion of the upstairs east and upstairs west classrooms in 2005 and 2006 respectively. Today at Trinity, God continues to expand His Kingdom here. On July 19, 2009, we were blessed to be able to break ground on our new expansion building which will primarily house our middle school and also provide specially designed classrooms for Art, Music and Science for all students. God willing, we anticipate this project to be completed by Fall of 2010. As God leads and provides, future expansion plans include the potential for a high school. We praise God for His faithfulness in establishing Trinity and nurturing its growth. It is to Him we give the glory! |
